Small Bundt Cake from the Air Fryer

A simple small bundt cake baked in an air fryer in a Lékué silicone mold. Nicely baked inside, slightly crisp on top, and just the right size for two.

Small Bundt Cake from the Air Fryer

We’ve only had our air fryer for a short while, but I’m gradually trying to bake all sorts of things in it. After the almond-coconut cake, it was time for a classic bundt cake.

And since there are only two of us at home, this kind of small bake makes more and more sense to me. I don’t have to heat up the whole oven for one little bundt cake, and in half an hour we have something nice for tea or breakfast.

This time I also wanted a simpler, slightly drier bundt cake, not an extra moist dessert. And it turned out exactly the way I imagined – nicely baked inside, with a really good, slightly crisp crust on top. 🙂

The small Lékué bundt mold

Just like last time, I used a Lékué silicone mold made specifically for the air fryer.

We ordered the Lékué molds directly from the official website www.lekue.com, and so far I’m really happy with them. They’re made of 100% platinum silicone and, above all, they don’t need any greasing at all. That’s probably one of the biggest advantages for me. No butter, no oil, no dusting with flour – I simply pour the batter straight into the mold. And it worked this time too. After baking I let the cake rest for a few minutes, and it came out of the flexible silicone mold beautifully. Nothing stuck, and the mold was very easy to wash afterwards.

Baking a bundt cake in the air fryer

Our air fryer has two separate drawers, but for a small bundt cake one was of course enough this time. I put the mold straight into the drawer and baked the cake on the Bake program. After about 25 minutes the skewer came out dry, but to be safe I let it bake for another 5 minutes. So it was in our air fryer for about 30 minutes in total.

With an air fryer, though, I always treat the time as only a rough guide. We’ve already found that ours sometimes needs a bit more time for baking, so I’d rather go by how the cake actually looks and, above all, by the classic skewer test.

And how did it turn out?

Very well, in my opinion. It was nicely baked inside, exactly as I wanted. A slightly crisp layer also formed on the surface, which my husband said was the very best part. 🙂

And even when cut, the bundt cake looked lovely. This is exactly the kind of small bake that makes me enjoy the air fryer more and more. For two people this size is plenty, and we don’t have to turn on the big oven for one small bake.

Next time I’d like to try a slightly different version – a healthier bundt cake with no added fat at all. I’m curious whether it will turn out just as well. 🙂
