Lenna Stories isn’t just a blog — it’s also our family experiment with AI and modern technology. Read on to see how the site is made.
This website isn’t just my travel and personal blog. It’s also our small family project, which my husband and I are building step by step and constantly improving. And since I love new technologies and artificial intelligence, we decided to build this site a little differently.
A blog we built ourselves
My website, Lenna Stories, runs on the modern Astro framework, and we also used artificial intelligence and so-called “vibe coding” while building it.
Simply put — we say what we’d like to create or change, describe it in plain everyday language, and artificial intelligence helps us with the programming. Of course, it’s not as simple as pressing one button and having the site done. 🙂
My husband spent around 50 hours on its first version, and we’ve been refining and improving it together ever since.
It’s really a collaboration between a human and AI — our ideas, decisions and experience combined with what today’s technology makes possible.
Lenna Stories in 13 languages 🌍
One of the things I’m especially happy about is that the site is available in 13 language versions. Besides Czech, you can also read it in English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Polish, Slovak, Hungarian, Swedish, Japanese and Korean.
Artificial intelligence — Claude, by Anthropic — helps me with the translations. Thanks to that, people from abroad can also discover my articles, photos and travel tips and read them in their own language.
But the stories, experiences and photographs themselves stay mine. AI is a helper to me, but it doesn’t replace what we actually experienced and what I want to share with you through Lenna Stories.
Speed mattered to us ⚡
We wanted the site to be simple and lightweight, and to load well not just on a computer, but especially on a phone.
That’s why, instead of a classic content management system, we chose Astro and connected the site to Cloudflare. We also thought carefully about the photos, and there are really a lot of them on Lenna Stories. We try to optimize them so they stay beautiful without unnecessarily slowing down page loading.
And because Cloudflare uses a global network of servers, it helps deliver the website’s content quickly to visitors from all over the world.
And it’s still not finished
What I love about Lenna Stories is exactly that it keeps evolving. Sometimes I redo something, sometimes I add something, and sometimes I realize my original idea wasn’t the best after all. 🙂
It’s a bit of a travel blog, a bit of my digital diary, and at the same time our experiment with what a person can create today with the help of modern technology and artificial intelligence.
And I’m curious myself to see where we’ll take it next. 🙂
