How my friend and I "pedalled" in Prague to keep inflation in check 🤭😀
Day two in Prague: hotel breakfast, a visit to the Czech National Bank Museum, and hidden gems in the city centre. Photos and stories from our trip.
Day two, we headed straight to the hotel breakfast after waking up, and I have to say the selection was absolutely incredible! 🥐☕ Prague had rain forecast for Thursday, but it didn’t bother us at all — we’d planned an indoor morning programme. Plus, it was supposed to stop raining around two o’clock. 🌧️🙂
Since our ticket from yesterday was still valid, we set off right after breakfast — along with my husband — to the Czech National Bank Museum. 🚋 We did manage to miss our stop, because we were both buried in maps on our phones, but at least we got an unplanned little walk out of it. 😅

At the entrance, you have to go through a security gate and empty your pockets, but inside it’s a real experience. And best of all — this museum is free. 🪙
We got to see counterfeit banknotes, various types of safes (including one hidden behind a painting), and also design drawings for banknotes by Mr. Kulhánek, whose exhibition was on at the time.

They also have interactive features, and you can even get a little “workout” — there’s an exercise bike you have to pedal to keep inflation at two per cent. 😀 🚲💨 We obviously jumped on it straight away. 🙂
Pedal, pedal, pedal — inflation won't wait! 😄
In the basement, in the vault behind armoured doors, you can see a giant gold coin — the second largest in the world. 😲 We spent over an hour there, picked up some souvenirs and were absolutely blown away. We’d never seen anything like it. 🙂

From the bank, we hopped on a tram to the Rudolfinum Gallery, where we said goodbye to my husband. My friend loves painting, so galleries were a great source of inspiration for her. Now it was just the two of us — and the main goal: don’t get lost in Prague! 🙈
And what happened next? Did we get lost? And what else did we visit? Find out in the next post. 😊
Are you planning to visit the Czech National Bank too? 🙂
