How We Were Afraid of Getting Lost in Prague — Free Art and Food Tips
Rudolfinum, a free exhibition, lunch at Loving Hut, Gallery 1 and the Vypečená matka bistro — the third day in Prague full of art, great food and navigating with Google Maps.
We ended our last adventure at the Rudolfinum. And it was there that we were heading to visit the gallery — we walked up the stairs along the red carpet, like real celebrities. 😀✨ There happened to be an exhibition called “Beyond the City of Time” by Sahej Rahal. Entry was voluntary and even though I may not be the best at appreciating modern art, the spaces inside the Rudolfinum absolutely blew me away! 😍 I’m adding a few photos so you can see what it looks like.
The Rudolfinum with its exhibition — spaces that enchanted us
From the Rudolfinum we had to take the tram, and since I use Google Maps as my timetable, it quickly found a suitable connection. We were supposed to get off at Národní třída and were surprised to find ourselves right by the Quadrio shopping centre, which we actually already knew a little. 🙂
And since we still had some time, we decided to have lunch at Loving Hut — it’s a place we love going to when we’re in Prague. 😀 It’s a vegetarian restaurant but the food is served by weight, so you pile up exactly what you fancy. 🥗 My friend had her favourite beetroot salad and I had noodles with vegetables and a kind of potato-cheese patty. The lady at the till was incredibly kind — she immediately picked up from our conversation that we were tourists and handed us two toilet coupons on the spot. In central Prague that can be a godsend! 😂🚽
Then came the real test with the map. I use Google Maps, which through the phone camera shows you a live arrow pointing the way. 📱➡️ And would you believe it — we didn’t get lost, and we followed it all the way to Gallery 1, which was our destination. There was a beautiful exhibition by Mr Jiří Altmann and the lady invited us straight in, saying it was free. We were completely alone in there — such peace in the middle of the city, with a touch of art. 🙂

We also popped along the map to a bookshop, because we love books.
A stop at the bookshop is simply a must 🙂
Then we hopped on the tram again to head to the Matějská Fun Fair, since my friend had never been. 🎠 We walked through the whole thing and because it had just rained, there were very few people around.

We had originally planned to visit the Botanical Garden, but after those two days our feet had really had enough. 👣 So we decided to go to the centre for coffee and I asked Gemini to find us a nice bistro or café that wouldn’t be overpriced. And it found one! Bistro Café — Vypečená matka. The route there took us past the Prague Astronomical Clock, where there were crowds of tourists, but through various little lanes we made it to the bistro. 🍰 Inside it looked like a gallery, and the pastries! Everything was homemade — the owner bakes them herself, we learned from the staff. I bought a few for my husband too, because food is practically the best gift for him! 🎁😋

On the way back to the hotel we also stopped by the Eden shopping centre, where I was completely surprised by an exhibition about a funfair that used to be there. I had no idea! 🎢 It was a tiring but absolutely wonderful day full of experiences.

Those two days in Prague were truly worth it. 🙂 And do you know who planned it all out so nicely and recommended these places to visit? It was artificial intelligence — Gemini, which I love using.
I hope our trip inspired you or at least gave you a little smile. So, will you ever make a trip like this to Prague? 🙂
