Hotel Górski in Białka Tatrzańska — a fairytale place beneath the Tatras
A modern mountain hotel right below the High Tatras in Poland, excellent wellness facilities and the famous thermal baths next door — even though they happened to be closed.
A tip for a beautiful hotel in Poland with views of the High Tatras — a continuation of our holiday, and some very empty thermal pools 🙈🙉
After two nights in Demänová, it was time to move on to the next stop.
Our route took us along the motorway through Poprad, where my husband had a two-hour online meeting. So we made a pleasant stop there and then set off towards Poland — specifically to the town of Białka Tatrzańska, where a 4-star Hotel Górski was waiting for us. 🇵🇱
We rarely return to the same place twice, but this was our second visit, because the hotel had left an absolutely lasting impression on us last time. Not just because of the excellent service, but mainly the unbeatable location right beneath the Tatras. 🏔️
Hotel Górski — arrival and exterior
Most of our group had been looking forward to this trip mainly because of the famous Terma Bania thermal baths. We’d never been ourselves, and one of the great advantages of Hotel Górski is that these huge thermal pools are right next door. 🌡️
But life has a way of surprising you. Imagine our shock when we arrived at the hotel and saw nothing but trucks, diggers, cranes and completely drained pools all around! A technical shutdown was underway, and they were due to reopen on Friday — the day we were leaving. Nothing we could do. At the hotel we met plenty of Czechs and Slovaks in the same boat, who had had no idea the thermal baths were closed.
Even without the famous pools right next door, the stay was fantastic. For me, Hotel Górski is truly one of the most beautiful hotels I’ve ever stayed in.
The entire interior is decorated in a modern mountain style. Everywhere you look there are stunning wood and stone decorations that complement the mountain traditions of the Polish region. The hotel is also fully accessible with a lift, which is wonderfully convenient.

Since we came just after Easter, beautiful Easter decorations were still everywhere. And the wooden carvings all around — bears, owls, antlers — all together created just the right mountain atmosphere.

Behind the hotel there’s even a tennis court, so you can play tennis or basketball. There are also plenty of sun loungers and armchairs, children’s slides, toys, blankets, a gazebo and even a barbecue grill.

With the big pools closed, we made the most of the hotel wellness included in the price. We tried the jacuzzi — smaller, for about four to five people, but guests took turns nicely. Some of our group also tried the excellent sauna. The hotel also has a modern gym and a salt cave, so nobody gets bored here even in bad weather.
Fitness centre and hotel facilities
In the evening we headed to the hotel games room, which is also beautifully done. We played table tennis and foosball, and I tried pool for the very first time in my life. Even though I was terrible and balls flew everywhere, I had so much fun. The main thing was that we had an absolute blast as a group. 😀

The next morning we kicked things off with a superb breakfast buffet, which is genuinely excellent at this hotel. The choice was enormous and everything was delicious.

After breakfast our group split up. Part of our crew drove to the nearby Gorący Potok thermal baths, which were open, and they had a wonderful time there. As a bonus, staying at this hotel gives you a discount at those thermal baths.
And I set off for a walk towards the Kotelnica ski resort. The chairlift happened to be stopped, so I strolled into the centre of the town. I reached the little church, picked up a few small things in a shop and browsed the many souvenir stalls lining the road — there really are a lot of them.

We booked this stay through Slevomat for the second time, and we think the price there is really good. Included in the price are a bottle of wine, free parking, a small but lovely wellness area, a gym, a games room, and of course an excellent breakfast and a discount at the thermal baths. And there’s even more the hotel offers that we’ve never had a chance to try.
More days of excursions to the surrounding area were still ahead of us — I’ll write about those next time.
Would you like a hotel like this in the mountains? 🙂
