Białka Tatrzańska
Białka Tatrzańska is a small town in Poland right below the High Tatras, and we’ve been here twice already — and we rarely go back to the same places. We stayed at Hotel Górski, which stands right next to the Terma Bania thermal baths. They happened to be drained for maintenance, but our stay was fantastic anyway. Hotel guests also get a discount at the nearby Gorący Potok thermal baths.
Less than 4 kilometres from the town lies the Przełom Białki nature reserve — a wild mountain river between giant limestone rocks, the Obłazowa cave, where the world’s oldest boomerang was found, and the place where the film Jánošík was shot. From the car park it’s only about 400 metres through the forest. Nearby you’ll also find our tips for Nowy Targ and Zakopane.
Przełom Białki
A nature reserve where the wild mountain river Białka flows between massive limestone cliffs, Obłazowa and Kramnica. By the river lies the Obłazowa cave, where archaeologists found the world's oldest boomerang. A short walk through the forest from the car park, popular with climbers.
