A Tip for Affordable Accommodation in Slovakia's Low Tatras
Affordable accommodation in the Low Tatras does exist — Apartmány za Rohom in Demänová near Liptovský Mikuláš has a 4.9 rating on Google.
They say the Tatras are expensive. But I have a tip for very affordable accommodation in the Low Tatras. 🏔️🇸🇰
We’ve stayed for the second time at an apartment complex called Apartmány za Rohom. It’s located in the small village of Demänová, a district on the outskirts of Liptovský Mikuláš. 🏠
On Google, they have an impressive rating of 4.9 out of 5, and on Booking 9.4. It’s honest, clean and peaceful — the ideal base for anyone who wants freedom and quiet while travelling.
Parking is included and right next to the building. You can also use the garden and everything it has to offer — and there’s plenty to see, as you can tell from my photos. 📷

Keys, Quiet and No Interruptions
You pick up the keys yourself from a code box — you won’t run into anyone and no one will disturb you.
The building has around five apartments, and the largest could easily fit a group of eight. We’ve used the first-floor apartment twice, and of course the largest one too, since there were eight of us.
The Largest Apartment — Liptov Royal
The largest apartment, called Liptov Royal, has everything you need — from a kitchenette for your morning coffee to pots and pans. And a big bonus for larger groups? There are two bathrooms, which saves a lot of morning arguments.
But the best part comes when you wake up. The balcony of this apartment offers a beautiful view of the mountains. 🏔️

A Great Location
The location is also strategic:
- The ski resort of Jasná is just 7 km away
- The Liptovská Mara reservoir or the Tatralandia aquapark are 9 km away
- A Coop Jednota shop is just a short walk from the accommodation — perfect for fresh rolls or other Slovak specialities
What the Garden Has to Offer
In summer, you can barbecue in the garden, play darts, shoot hoops, or use the various fitness machines. There’s even a sauna with a hot tub — though we’ve never tried it, since we always have a packed programme and visit in spring.

Price and How to Get the Best Deal
The cheapest way to book is through Slevomat. For example, two nights in the largest apartment will cost you around 590 CZK per person — a fantastic price.
You can’t cancel the dates once booked on Slevomat (though you can usually move them if you book for a specific date), but the savings make it well worth it. The most beautiful experiences in the Tatras are truly within reach for everyone. 🏔️
In my next post I’ll show you everything we visited in the area. 🙂
Save this tip, or share it with someone who loves to travel or is planning a trip to Slovakia. Have you ever been to the Low Tatras? 🙂
