Vsetín
Lower Square
The main square of Vsetín — a stone weather station, a glass information centre and buses painted with Wallachian motifs and slogans.
Civic Savings Bank
The former savings bank building from 1896. The sgraffito decoration on the facade — a shepherd with sheep by a mountain hut and a Wallachian wedding — was designed by Mikoláš Aleš.
Evangelical Church
A church with a tall tower on Palackého Street. Vsetín has long been a stronghold of Czech Protestants — two congregations stand side by side here.
Maštaliska
A former manor farmstead from 1770. After 1855 it held stables for post horses — maštale in Czech — hence the name Maštaliska. The neo-Gothic battlements and turrets were added in a later rebuild; today the building houses a business incubator.
Vsetín Castle
A castle with a tall tower, home to the Wallachian Region Museum — entry to the park is free.
Manor Garden
The largest of the town's parks. Count Illésházy laid out a manor garden with an orchard here in 1773; it was the town beautification society that later turned it into a public park. Today there is a pond with waterfowl, a gazebo and a golden VSETÍN sign.
