Český Krumlov

Castle

An extensive Renaissance and Baroque castle complex rising above the Vltava River, the second-largest in Czechia after Prague Castle.

Castle Garden

A sprawling Baroque garden above the town with manicured parterres, tree-lined avenues and quiet corners the tourist crowds usually never reach.

Cascade Fountain

A monumental 18th-century fountain with statues of water deities – the main ornament of the upper part of the castle garden.

Bellárie Summer House

A white-and-green Baroque summer house in the middle of the castle garden, once used by the nobility for rest and celebrations.

Revolving Auditorium Český Krumlov

An open-air theatre stage in the castle garden whose entire auditorium rotates to follow the action during performances.

Castle Baroque Theatre

One of the best-preserved Baroque theatres in the world – with original sets, curtains and stage machinery from the 18th century.

Cloak Bridge

A multi-storey covered stone bridge with statues of saints, connecting the castle with the garden and the theatre, with a view of the entire historic centre.

Budějovice Gate

The only surviving town gate from the original fortifications built around the turn of the 16th and 17th centuries, where the road from České Budějovice once led.

Náplavka Miroslava Párala

A landscaped Vltava embankment below Latrán named after a Krumlov sculptor, from where you can watch climbers on the Havraní skála rock across the river.

Havranka Via Ferrata

A secured climbing route (via ferrata) on the Havraní skála rock right above the Vltava, with loops of varying difficulty.

Lazebnický Bridge

A wooden bridge over the Vltava connecting Latrán with the historic core, with a crucifix, a statue of Saint John of Nepomuk and a view of the castle tower.

Concord Square

The main square of the historic centre with Renaissance burghers' houses, the town hall and a Baroque plague column.

Seminary Garden

A quiet terraced garden above the Vltava by the former Jesuit seminary, with one of the loveliest views of the town.
